BSc (Hons) Computing

BSc (Hons) Computing focuses on computing and digital technologies. It is designed to develop subject knowledge, academic skills and practical understanding that can support progression into employment or further study. Students may study areas such as Academic & Professional Skills, Computing Principles, Computer Programming, Database Design & Implementation, Software Development and Information Systems Security, alongside wider themes in software, data, digital systems, web technologies, networks, databases and applied technology projects. Full-time - Standard delivery Studying on campus 2 days a week which is Monday - Friday (10:00-17:00)

Entry requirements: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DMM in a related subject. All applicants are required to have at least 3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths. Non-Standard Entry (Mature 21+): We require an academic Level 3 qualification (Ofqual recognised) OR a Level 2 qualification in the desired field of study accompanied with work experience within this field in the last 5 years. Candidates in this category would be required to pass an academic interview.

Career outcomes: Career outcomes may include IT support analyst, junior software or web developer, data support officer, systems support, digital project assistant, technology consultant support or further study in computing. Actual career routes depend on the student’s experience, qualifications, location, chosen provider route and any professional requirements in the sector.
